Introducing Camden

Back in August, I posted a teaser pic of this pretty little diamond patterned scarf and the pattern is (finally) finished.

After spending a lot of time playing with various diamond patterns from stitch dictionaries (some were too big, some too small, others uneven so the pattern made large and small diamonds), I ended up charting out my own diamond pattern based on the stitch pattern that was closest to the look I was trying to get.

The result of all that experimenting with diamond patterns is a pretty and not too difficult lace pattern that makes a gorgeous scarf from one skein (~475 yards) of fingering weight yarn – This pattern was partially inspired by the color of the yarn; it’s Neighborhood Fiber Co.’s Rustic Fingering in the Gwynn Oak colorway. Gwynn Oak is a super-saturated variegated orange that has some pink tones and some more yellow-ey tones, but is at its core a really great orange.

The pattern is available on Ravelry: Camden Scarf
