This is your average chevron pattern with a few tweaks to make it more interesting. The striping and eight-pointed ‘star’ at the top of the hat are interesting to look at and look good in (almost!) any color combination!
The hat is knit in one size for your average woman sized head (18” circumference flat with approximately 4” of negative ease). The gauge is a little funky to count because your trying to count across chevrons. If you do a swatch you want almost two of the twelve stitch pattern repeats to be just a smidge (1/4 inch) wider than 4”.
The samples knit use Red Heart Super Saver, Berrocco Vintage Chunky, and Berrocco Ultra Alpaca. You could use any two worsted weight yarns and you need less than 100 yards of each color.
